“I.D.E.S.” Plaque Regulations
In order to make known the Azorian Chapels, the Azores DX Group organizes the “Holy Spirit Chapels Plaque”. The intention is to disclose the Festivals in honour of the Holy Spirit, which has been rooted in the Azorian people for a few centuries. It is the Azorian biggest manifestation, both religious and profane, and fiercely lived troughout all villages, in every islands, as well as in many immigrants communities.
The chapels known as impérios (empires) of the Holy Ghost, have showy decorations and fantastic shapes; at the top of their facades the "empires" have a white dove or crown, that sylbolizes the Holy Spirit. They shelter the crown and the Holy Spirit scepter, where all festivities are centralized.
Annexed to the "empires" are the "larders", where the bread, meat and wine to be used in the festivals is kept, this is all to be offered to residents and visitors.
